A softbox Umbrella?

It seems to me that it won't produce much if any benefit over an ordinary reflective umbrella. It's just a reflective umbrella with a bit of plastic over the sharp end, which will diffuse the light to some extent - scattering it everywhere.

It isn't any kind of replacement for a real softbox, which faces the other way and so can be placed close to the subject to control light spill and produce soft lighting - and which has (or at least the decent ones have) an inner diffuser to produce even light with no hotspots.
 
I think it would act just like a reflective umbrella except with a diffuser
