Hi there peeps!

I asked my other half to marry me on Xmas day - luckily she said yes! lol!

Obviously a i'll need a man with a camera to mark the day and grab all those special little moments!

My problem is i've no idea of budgets and what I should be thinking and off course what I should realisitically get for ceratin levels of cost in terms of piccies albums etc etc. I guess I don't want to be taken to the cleaners.

Apart from asking for previous examples and some references what other questions should be asked? Are there any questions that might weed out of chancer for example?!

Any help appreciated and many thanks in advance

Cheers

Paul

Congratulations!

Do your homework. It's not too difficult to search on the net for photographers. Budget is down to you, you can spend anything from £250 for a badly shot CD to £12,000 for an album of top notch pics by a famous photographer.

Take your pick. Get to work on it ASAP, weed out the ones that you don't like and set up meetings with the ones you do like. Ask to see samples, most will have a package price for set coverage to which you can add the things you want.

We have some very good wedding togs on here, perhaps you would like to start with some of them. Oh and some of us are actually female :naughty:

Sorry didn't mean to be sexist with my "man with a camera" comment - open to all obviously!

Thanks for the advice!

OH and I'm not sure if against forum rules but if anyone want's to toss their hat into the ring for the job let me know. Wedding is likely to be in Brockenhurst Hants! And I'm certainly not looking at spending £12k lmao!

lol, not a problem.

Have you any idea what time of year you will be aiming for?

Shooting in the depths of winter requires lenses that allow for shooting in low light and cost a fortune. I would not be employing a tog who can't shoot below f2.8 if it is a winter wedding.

If you cant get a photographer i can get you a pyschiatrist on the cheap.

Ha Ha Very good!

Wedding is likely to be around Sept/Oct next year but depends on finances as always! In the few days since proposal we've wittled things down to 2 likely venues - Rhinefield House Hotel and Balmer Lawn both just outside Brockenhurst! I want Rhinefield but suspect it'll cost! :'(

I'll also have a look at my PM's in a tick!

Cheers Paul
