Great shots but I think #2 is the best but the area to the left of the foreground tree is distracting and wondered if a tighter crop to bring the tree further forward might make it more powerful.

I like it though.

Very good set of shots. No 4 is my favourite, what a brilliant perspective and vantage point (y)

Just a very quick attempt but I think yo usee what I mean and when you do it to the original you will get a better effect.

My workflow was

Mask the horizon and above for a levels adjustment to add more darks and a tiny bit of light. then for the lower part I adjusted +10 contrast, -2 exposure and then an unsharp mask filter at 40% radius 0.7.

I'm not so sure about the USM filter but the rest has more moody contast to it (in my opinion of course)

All I need is the ability to spot shots like you and then maybe I can stop playing with yours :eek:
