A Very Soggy Polo Tournament

The NFU Cup at Hertfordshire Polo Club. The weather conditions were atrocious and I had to take most of the shots from under a large parasol outside the clubhouse. The decking was so slippery I couldn't use the monopod and had to take the shots hand held with the Sigma 50-500!

3 and 5 for me, because 3 shows the weather and they both show the speed - no idea on the technical side though!

The last match I went to at the beginning of July was like that - and I didn't even have a parasol

1 is a great catch with the positions but I do like 4 - purely for the definition on the pony's hindquarters

Eeeuuww - nasty. #5 works well - the subjects fill the frame well. #3 looks very horrible indeed. Surprised the teams in 4 & 5 didn't get confused being in the same colour shirts.

How do you find the 50-500 for sharpness at full reach?

Thanks for the comments. It got even worse towards the end of the day at which point I moved into the clubhouse and set up for the presentations!

Tobers, In better conditions the 50-500 works well at full reach but I have to admit it was a bit of a struggle this time around.
