Not sure what section this should go in??

I shot a gig a while back and the US based singer has found my shots and wants to purchase a few for her new website with the possiblility of a few larger ones upto A1/Poster size for advertising her tour etc.

Her website guy is requesting A1 @ 300dpi, which is something silly like 10000x7000px

Would i be safer gradually enlarging the original upto 10000x7000px in photoshop,

Or would it be better to slightly enlarge the original RAW file once or twice upto 5000x3500px which would print an A1 @ 150dpi

Given that it is a poster size, its unlikely to be viewed close up (or well printed for that matter) would i be better to suggest the smaller files, or just try to bump them upto what has been requested?

My issue with bumping them up too much is that they were all shot at fairly high ISO (800-1600) with no flash. So id be worried that 300dpi will highlight any noise issues??

Any advice greatly appreciated :D

sweet, good stuff!
150dpi makes sense for such a large poster. was it shot with a 1Dii?
is there any millage in using noise ninja or similar?
the best route for me would be to supply in TIFF format straight from the RAW at max resolution, they may not want the whole picture full sized on A1, bleed borders, design etc

^^^ Sounds like good advice. A1 at 300dpi is a strange request, given that they will surely want different versions for web, programmes, posters etc. Just supply the biggest uncompressed file you can and let them deal with it. With careful interpolation a 40D image should still look good at A1.
