I am printing 20cm x 25cm onto A4 paper and would like a nice frame and mount. BUT I always seem to get it wrong. If I buy an A4 frame it is either very neat with no mount or the mount is cut out to A4 and will not hold the photograph. How do you mount and frame your photos please?

I buy an A3 frame and then cut a suitable sized mount using a mount cutter.
If you do it regularly something like this isn't too expensive Mount Cutter.
They can usually be got for about 65 quid, all you need then is some mount board and a cutting mat.

There are loads more sophisticated designs, but these produce a nice mount for the occasional user.
I find it quite satisfying seeing a nice bevelled cut out appear from the blank board, all your own work.

I never knew! I think I will take a trip to the local framer and get a few mounts made for the cheap frames I have.

If you're cutting your own, ask him for mount offcuts, he will more than likely be happy to let you have them at a reduced price. (y)
