A4 Printer recommendation needed

I know nothing about current printers, but do know that it is mainly the ink and paper that makes the most difference - of course the printer matters, but you will be spending most on the consumables, so look into that, and like everything else, be prepared to spend !
Mmm . . . No to much up on printers . . . I went into it a few months back. Finally decided that commercial print houses offer the best quality and price for the few pictures that I may need to 'a standard'! . . . However, I still needed a printer to proof and to print webb pages etc. Some printer manufacturers consumables are astronomic!!!
Kodak have bitten the bullet IMHO . . . £19.00 for a full set of cartridges, they guarantee the ink to have 100 years life . . .
My test showed, what I printed out, was very close to what was on screen, (HP screen come with its own setup program), what more can one say. I purchased the Kodak ESP 3250 . . . there are better? and more expensive models in the range.
