A73 audio level

When using any external mic on the A73 the default volume is way too high, it wants dropping to around 12-15.
Am I missing something but if I switch to a photo setting then back, let alone off and on again it reverts to default - too high - so have to repeatedly turn it down,
I have it on a custom button so quickly done but easy to overlook.

Some follow up on this, I didn't realise that the chosen manual audio level can be added to your registered settings, so when you go back to recall #1 or whatever it is where you left it.
just need to remember to boost it up if not using an external now.
You might have thought there would be an auto option that almost got it right most times.
