a77 mk2, How good is it?

Hi all have a few questions regarding the 77mk2,

How much better than an a65 is it?
Does it allow use of all high iso settings in video? Also is there a digital zoom available in video?
Whats the af and buffer like?
High iso capability compared with an a65?

Or an a6000 with an adapter.

Lenses are

18-55
sony 55-200
minolta 24-105
sony 85 f2.8
siggy 150-500

That said I had the A700 and then A77 MK1 and the A77 was a stunning bit of kit, High ISO wasn't maybe as good as the competition at the time but from what I understand of the MK2 this is meant to be much improved.

If its better than an a65 that would be an improvement. Shall take a look at dyxum. Thank you.
 
It has auto iso up to ISO3200 and to be honest you'd never tell it was iso3200. It seems good to me. It is at least on a par with the A580 noise wise which is some achievement. Might even be slightly better. The usual suspects DXOmark and DPreview are good places to look for comparisons.

I never upgraded to the A77 or the A65 as they just didn't have enough all round advantage. The frame buffer in the A77ii is also a decent sized as again those other models were let down with high fps but stupidly small buffers.
 
From what I have read ISO is much improved although the feature set of the original camera was hard to improve on.

Personally I would stick with the a65 and focus on upgrading the lenses, most of which are consumer grade.
 
think the slt's are abit behind in the high iso stakes, as the slt mirror takes some light, so the sensor actualy runs 1/3? of a stop higher than in a normal camera

getting a high quality wide angle would be good too, 16 50 sony or 18 35 sigma for example
 
There are several threads in Flickr discussion groups on just this topic. The general advice seems to be that the A77mk2 is a definite improvement, the camera the A77 ought to have been if they'd had the time to develop it properly. But you'll only notice the improvements if you happen to take the kind of photographs where they matter. And if you do, you'll be paying a lot for the improvements. If you chose the A65 over the A77 it's possible the areas of improvement aren't that important to you. As already suggested, you might get a better improvement from a really good lens. With 24MP your A65 will respond very well to improved lens quality.
