Looking to get some AA rechargeable battery`s for my flash guns looking at Eneloop or Duracell
any opinions what to got for? Also looking at the Maplin charger as well .
Or is there any other make I should consider ?

Cheers Gerry

Hi there I used Eneloop for many years when I was doing weddings in the EX580 and they were excellent.
Charger wise I used a Maplin fast charger again no issues.

+1 for Eneloop. Bought a couple of Sanyo chargers (NC-MON04B). They take about 10 hours to fully charge a set of 1,900mAh AA's.

cheers for that there a white and blue and green ones what are the best ones

I've got the 1,900mAh capacity white and blue ones. They work just fine. The higher capacity Eneloop Pro's (2,450mAh) cost a fair bit more. Didn't seem worth it to me.

Older Eneloops are the Sanyo ones afaik as they were bought out by Panasonic. Might not be any different but I went with the Panasonic ones.

I think the higher capacity Eneloops don't last as long either so it's only worth it if you really need the extra power (the regular ones seem to last a decent amount of time with a good charge).

+1 on the smart charger, even a high quality battery like eneloops can get out of sync with the others in your set, a charger like the one above that charges each cell individually and allows for refresh cycling will keep them all at their peak performance.
