Right, i'm only starting to get to grips with this digital photography...:gag:

I've got a Sony A200 with 18-70 lens and a bigger one (it's up-stair and i can't recall the sizes of it lol)

What should i be looking towards setting the camera at for motorsport, rallying to be precise. I'm At Galloway Hills Rally tomorrow, and don't want a repeat of Kingdom Stages....:bang: where i took pretty much all my pics at fastest lens speed......

Would i be best with the Aperture mode setting or shutter speed.....it's sending me over the edge lol:bonk:

Set to shutter speed priority mode.

Set your shutter speed to (initially) 1/320th second and then adjust the ISO until your aperture is not quite the widest open the lens can do.

If light is poor try to get your shutter speed down below 1/200th as soon as you can - but the reason for setting it higher initially is because it takes a few shots before you 'get your eye in' and can track the vehicles better.

I generally shoot rally in shutter priority between 1/125th and 1/200th although what can be good fun is to use a flash, get on the inside of a corner and use a wideangle. For this 1/125 should really be your maximum shutter speed and you should expect to get it wrong more than you get it right!
