I have the GV2. I bought it when I upgraded my tripod set up in preparation for getting the Canon 500mm f4.
I was trying to keep weight down and the head is advertised as weighing under 1lb and supporting 25lb. Turns out it cant.
It is great for all my smaller lenses but it cant take the 500. The base has come apart from the main head but it is an easy fix which I have done. I have now got a Wimberley for the 500 and use the GV2 for everything else.
Would I recommend it? Yes. It is great for all my lenses up to and including the 300 f4.
