I have tried downloading EXIF for Mac (I am using OSX), didn’t get a result.

I think I have found out that if you open a DCS NEF image, then once that is open, open image and then save as a jpg, it creates a XMP. file, if you then open the XMP file it has lots of text info, scroll down and there is info that says:

<aux:ImageNumber>8430</aux:ImageNumber>

I assume this is the number of photos that has been taken with the camera?

I have a Nikon D60

Can anyone confirm this please :help:

I cannot confirm that, but I can confirm how I get the info.

Opanda. Good, free software.

You just point the software to a recent jpeg that you have taken and it gives you all the info. Here is the link;

Let us know if that number does match your actual actuations!

Preview does it also: tools > inspector > the info symbol at the top > Nikon > shutter count
