Administrator password

My teenage daughters Dell netbook has an error( DLL ) and opinion was to load from the disc which i did, this runs fine but then asks for admin password which i havent got.Any ideas.

Possibly there isn't one and just pressing return will work :shrug:

just loading files again and then try to use the repair option and will try just returning to see if there is a password or not.

Which windows installation would you like to log onto

So what do i type in this box?

Should list them out with numbers against them, type the number

Prob want the sfc /detectnow off the top of my head for a dodgy dll

i cant remember i the recovery console lets you do it, try typing:

sfc /scannow

?

what was the DLL error anyway?

Uh... how about which operating system?

You can run sfc from both the Recovery Console, or the Recovery Environment depending on what OS you have.

Thanks folks--the system runs XP, i have managed to get windows to load and im running virus scan just now to see if it picks anything up but it seems many others have had the same problem
