hi

i have experience in photoshop elements 9, but i'm new to photoshop lightroom 3, but have a p.c. problem in the first lesson in that i'm required to install "adobe flash". i can't install it, and neither can i uninstall it as it shows up in my programs and features.

flash player 10 activeX is already on my p.c.

i'm trying to download flash-player-pro.softlate.com/Flash+Player. i've tried several sites with the same outcome.

any advice please?

There is a special uninstaller for flashplayer, have a wee google.

hi dave

thanx for your response.

i've installed it and uninstalled it 100 times by now, but can't get to use it in lightroom. i've also tried several times to install it without mcafee, and then with mcafee and deleting mcafee afterwards. all to no avail.

also, i have no idea if my internet explorer is 32 or 64 bit. and i just saw its not my default browser. this is all rather over my head but i'm willing to learn.

Most likely it will be 32bit, I thought it would be easy to check in the help but it doesn't say.

My suggestion is to use the special uninstaller to remove flash then reboot your PC.

Remove LR3 and reboot.

Download and install the latest version of flash and reboot.

Download and install the latest version of LR3.3 an see what happens.

I have never had it ask for flash in my experience with any of the versions?

As far as Macafee goes, it can be a bit of a job to get rid of it, so more googling for you, if you need to go down that route!

i've done all you said. i found out today that flash 10.2 is fresh today out of the stables, so maybe it has teething problems. it was only released over the weekend i'm told by a friend.

i needed it for the end of a lesson in "classroom in a book" for lr 3. i needed it to "preview in a browser" which requires adobe flash. i have moved on now but just hope i don't need it in future lessons.

i had no problem getting rid of mcafee.
