Edit My Images
No
I would love to start selling my photos but don't know what the best way to do this is, I would prefer to actually get them printed and put in frames and then sell them. I know this is more costly but if anyone knows where the best places is to get them printed? Would it be okay to get them printed at Tesco for instance? or is this the wrong way of doing things?
Any advice would be handy,
Kind regards,
Jonathan

DSCL (DS Colour Labs) does a good job of printing. Good prices and a fast turnaround.

You could try selling printed, mounted and framed; or just printed with a mount, back and bag for people to choose their own frame. It depends how much you want to invest upfront. Places like Cotswold Mounts can supply mounts, backs and bags.

What sort of images.. portraits, sports, pets, landscapes? How will people find them?

Mostly landscapes really and I'm really not sure where, maybe online but I was thinking more on a market somewhere.. Do you have to have a license to sell or anything? Haha sorry total noob!

I would ay you should try local craft/gift/tourist shops that would be near the landscapes you are talking and show the owner a sample of what you have and ask if he would display them for you (at a small cost). People like lanscapes that they are familiar with and know are local. The shop owner will know imediately if they will sell I'd say, try a few mounted prints first and if you are successful you can go from there. I wouldnt go straight in to framing them as this adds to the selling cost. It isnt an easy thing to do as there are so many good amatuer togs about but its all about getting your name out there.

Problem these days, with the simplicity and availability of basic 'digital cameras', every one thinks they are a Sir David Baily . . . !

The subject matter needs to be unusual, and/or the picture striking . . . serious weather or a sunset for instance. Your average tourist/site seer will miss these?

Its something I would like to do, as a semi retirement project . . . ;)
