advice on SDHC card desperately needed!

Hello

Can anyone tell me if this memory card is any use to me?

I have a really important shoot on Wednesday, my 30D is being a pain right now and throwing ERR#99 messages at me every 5 shots or so, so I'm not taking it along.

So, I need a wee bit more memory for my 450D, I shoot in RAW only, don't need it to be particularly speedy as I only really shoot portraits. I'm tempted to buy it but is it worth it? I already have 6GB worth of memory for it in sandisk extreme & ultra but it's just not enough. I need something I can whack in if I run out of space.

So would you say that "yes, it would do what you want it to do"? Or "No, it's a class 2, that means it's actually pants for what you need it for"?

The card will work but the chances of getting it from play.com by Wednesday are very slim.

The write speed on those cards isn't great.....in fat it's very slow, so might not be the best for large RAW files :shake:

Something like this: http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...Ultra-II-8GB-SD-SDHC-Memory-Card/Product.html would be a lot better.....I know it isn't 16GB, but it's a very good price all the same!

EDIT: Aaah, you need it for Wednesday.....Play.com won't deliver for Wednesday! :nono: If you need a cheap but big card for Wednesday, Argos are selling some cheap SD cards atm, but they aren't the fast ones.....

I have 2 of these and they work great on a 550D (and before on the 500D and 450D). They even work ok as a backup card for the 1DIV

This is a class 4 card and at the same price as the Class 2 Sandisk:

Thank you guys my next choice was going to be an 8gig sandisk ultra as I have the 4 gig and it does me just fine until it runs out of space think I'll get the ultra.

It's exactly what I did when I last bought an SD card.....I reckon you'll get close to 500 RAW files on an 8GB card.....should be plenty!
