Just had the lens of my 50D .. touched the ****ing glass didnt i!

:@ nearly dropped it and put my finger in the glass .. havnt moved anything but put a damn finger print on the glass now :@ how do i clean it?

lint free cloth?
 
Yes or any soft cloth, clean in a circular motion..;)
 
Brillo pad will do fine...ONLY KIDDING!:D a lint free cloth better still microfibre cloth (clean if you have one), drop a hint to a family member for a stocking filler for a lenspen, I think they are less than a tenner, ideal for situations like this.

THey don't help much though if you drop the lens :)
 
as you said a lint free cloth should do, anything like a glasses wipe cloth will do. you may need some lens fluid if it is stubborn.
 
i used a brillo pad like you said and now its all scratched?!?!?!
 
lol just kidding :P (although the missus did once try wiping a stubborn mark off my car with a green scourer! :@ machine polishing took a while!)

used a lint free cloth that came with my tv was still in wrapper so brand new and clean although i did have a tight ring piece when i took lens off to put my fingers in there!!!! :@

want to take the focus screen out to remove the dust but my balls aint that big!

Yes I had the same and the missus didn't understand why I was shouting her to "STOP" I see a pattern :exit:

i dropped the boxes i was carrying and just stood in dismay.

brand new car on an 09 picked up couple of days earlier and she said theres a black makr (was a white car) so she got the scourer on it ..

my eyes swelled up lol
