Advice sought on budget equipment set up

Hi, i'm new to DSLR photography and would very much appreciate your advice on the best equipment I can get for my photographic interests, within my budget.

I currently have a secondhand Nikon D90 with a 28-200 lens that I was gifted the other day. I was already thinking about getting a Nikon D3300 with 1 or 2 lenses - a 55-300 and a 18-55. I thought this would cover my interests from landscape and wildlife to candids, street and portraiture. I can't afford more than this.

My question is should I stick with what i've got or invest in the D3300? Do I need new lenses even? Any advice would be very much appreciated, thank you!

What is it about the D90 you feel is holding you back? Might be a good idea to concentrate on upgrading your glass first.

For the moment, it's likely best to stick with the gear that you have and invest time and effort instead.

I agree, if you've only had the camera and lens a couple of days you have enough to get to grips with before you should consider buying any new kit (unless it's just the lens that's new, it can be read both ways). Learn to use what you have and when you find you can't get the shots you want with the kit you have then you can buy kit you need rather than want. Your bank manager will be happier too.

keep the D90,you can use older lens with that as well

I would stick with the D90 and learn your craft tbh as there's not 'that' much difference between this and the D3300. Yes the D3300 is a bit better in most areas but I think you'd be better learning your craft and possibly save for a significantly better body at a later date once you've decided that photography is something that you want to pursue.
