Advised on spare battery for D3100 Please

I’m off on holiday in a few weeks and i wanted to pick up a spare battery for my D3100 before i go. A quick look on Amazon has now left me with two options.

Options 1 for £26.85

Both batteries seems to have good and bad review but i was just wondering if anyone has experience with either of them? Is it worth paying the extra £12 for the genuine battery though a few review say it’s a counterfeit or am i just wasting money?
 
mine lasted one charge then camera wouldnt recognize it, so i went back to ebay and have had no issues
 
genuine nikon battery always.
given the life of one its pence/charge.

if a bad battery leaks your camera could get trashed.

oddly enough though when i had a d3100 the battery seemed to last for weeks.
i alwasy use the view finder though and just the screen for zoom checks.

Thanks for the advise, genuine Nikon battery it is. Dose anyone know if the £26 ones that are on Amazon are genuine or not?
 
I bought one from a different seller around Chhristmas time and queried if it was genuine before buying. I was assured that it was and I have no reason to think otherwise. It looks identical to the one which came with the camera and was in Nikon packaging.

Send the seller a messsage asking the question before ordering if in doubt.

Because I bought one of Amazon seller for similar price, it charged worked once, then I never got round to using it for a couple of months as I had 3(2 originals), and it never seemed to get picked, next time I used it, camera would not recognize it.
Contacted seller 3 times, got no response at all.
Informed Nikon UK
 
Was it a branded Nikon one? I must say that I haven't had any problem with the one I bought.
 
It was indeed branded.
And I have bought two non branded off flea bay with no problems. Its a gamble but Amazon sellers stick to the Amazon rules and not trading standards, so if you get a duffer, and its past the 30 days or so return period, all they do is ignore you.

Not all sellers are the same BTW.
 
Thanks for the help. Im really glad i asked now. I would have ended up with one of the ones that dosent work. I think I'll go for the one Al1944 recommended. I'd rather spend a little more if its definitely going to work.
