C&C welcome here, one of the main things I've noticed is that I should invest in a couple of flashguns as I find I was adding a lot of fill when processing the RAW file. I just can't get what I want out of them, and I don't know if its the angles, the setting, the wide angle... we all know these are all down to the user so yeah, I'm part of the problem too I guess 
Anyone that would be able to point me in the right direction would be great
