Affinity Photo and Canon ip8750 printer. Anyone else use this combination ?

Yeah I do.
Process photo
Use Affinity Soft proof and pick the paper profile I'm using (Affinity do a video about this)
Do any changes I need then merge/flatten the image into one file
Go Print
Again pick the Paper Profile and usually print as best quality.
