Affordable long lens for D90 sigma 170-500 or nikon 300

Looking at second hand, got 2 I'm considering at the moment

Sigma 170-500mm F5/6.3 APO between £330 - £399

or

Nikkor 300mm f/4 IF-ED £499


Anyone got any experience of either lens ?, I've had a quick play & the Nikon seems much sharper, but weighs a ton

The 300mm F4 is a cracker. I got one two weeks ago for £360. Super sharp and very well built. AF is a little slow but not too bad. It weighs a bit, but isnt as bad as a Sigma 50-500 for example.

Ive just bought a 1.4 TC for it too, so I'll have over 400mm reach for under £400

Reviews and feedback look like Nikon is the winner, just got to find one at a better price
