AFMA question...

HIiall,

I have a Canon 100mm macro lens, and have realised that instead of me being rubbish at focusing the lens at f2.8, I think the lens maybe front focusing. Pretty much all of my shots are front focused :-(

If I use MF instead of AF would that help? If not any ideas on what I could do as I believe my 450d will not allow AFMA in camera.

Thanks

For shooting macro I usually go for between f8 and f11 to get the DOF to get the whole subject in focus and use manual focus most of the time, I have the 100mm L macro but it should work the same for the non IS model. For portrait shots, if you are still having problems with front focussing at f2.8 you may have to send both the camera body and lens in to have them calibrated.

Thanks Stuart,

So would manual focusing help with the front focusing, i.e is it an AF issue? Surely if it is front focusing will it not do it for f8 as well, although maybe less noticeable ?

Cheers
