had to do lots of work on this just to get a reasonable image

background and edges were a problem

high ISO ....... etc.

what do you think

Well I think that is a beautiful image, the blue top to the head and bill against the black back ground and the crisp yellow eye look almost surreal to me. Please tell me you were lucky/skillful enough to get this wild and not posed. Even if it was posed I still think it's a beauty mind you.

As I indicated it is a captive bird in a centre for injured birds - mainly brought in by members of the public

Ah yes I see the prefix now I open my eyes, still a beautiful image as I said.
