Anyone use an Apple Airport express base station to enable wifi printing and music?

I can't get mine to work for love nor money :bang:

The little AMBER Led flashed constantly to signify it can't connect to the network. The odd thing is though, I can see the details of the base station and even see that it has my printer attached via the usb etc.

The WEP password for the router is in correctly.

the instruction manual is dire, which if I'm honest is a surprise because everything else I have from Apple has worked straight out of the box.

My iMac connects to the router via wireless without fault as does my laptop and my iPhone but this little thing is gonna go through the window!

Mine is built in but I had the same problem. When setting up my wireless I could see my router and wireless printserver but could not connect. When I chose WEP it refused to work. As a last resort I then checked WPA and it connected like a goodun!!

the express is supposed to act as a client as I understand it

Airport extreme is built into the mac, that connects to the netgear router fine
My windows lappy and my iPhone also connect to the router without issue.

Configuring Airport Express to allow music to be sent from itunes on the lappy and iMac and print files from both is proving difficult.

I think i'll have to resort to an ethernet connection to the router :(

My Dad had a bit of trouble setting his up, but now it is set up it works perfectly!

I have a Time Capsule which incorporates Airport Express. I don't recall any issues in setting it up. I have a printer attached but I don't stream music via it - yet.

Difficult to know what to suggest. Other than set everything back to defaults and start over.

I didn't think you could stream music through the Time Capsule...

I think the way we got the Airport Express to work was to reset all the security on the network then start again...

I had some info via PM on here....thank you.....which suggests that the problem lies with a non apple router, it seems it'll only do printers and music via the ethernet cable from the router, which ...... while isn't a problem as the airport is 5 ft from the router it's an annoyance as i've consigned all my old pc cables to the loft !!!
