alcoholic lens wipes safe for lens?

Tescos own lens wipes (for glasses) are just denatured alchohol and purified water, no parfum. No residues, and very good lint free wipes.

Would they be safe in respect of the lens coating would it damage it anyway?

TBH, I would guess that the dipped coatings on specs would be more fragile/prone to damage from solvents than those on lenses. I've used unperfumed, impregnated spec wipes on lenses (in the absence of better options) and had no problems. Personally, I would avoid the perfumed ones since the perfume could possibly cause smears.

If recommend wipes that are suitable for glasses with coatings on or a spray and use this on a lens.

Buy lenses costing £? hundreds then look for el cheapo cleaning solutions ................ is that wise?

Can anyone recommend me some safe wipes please (don't want to spend a fortune)

Pop along to your local opticians and they should have something or even Asda / Tesco opticians etc ...

thanks for this ill see if i can find some which state they can specially be used with lens with coatings :)

Pop into a camera shop and pick up a pack of lens tissues and a bottle of cleaning fluid. Should only cost you a couple of quid and will do a better job than the impregnated tissues. I only use the impregnated ones when on holiday - easier to transport safely in the hold baggage and no little bottle of solvent to worry about. The impregnated tissues I now use come from Lidl and are for use with specs. IIRC, they're branded W5.

Tesco lens wipes. They come in a blue box. I use nothing else. Individually wrapped, easy to pop into pocket or camera bag. Single use disposables. Perfect.

usually I breathe on the element then clean it with a cleanish bit of my tee shirt

I use a mix of isopropyl alcohol (£5 for half a litre on Amazon) and distilled water 1:1. It's virtually identical to all those expensive proprietary liquids and is perfectly safe to use on plastics and lens coatings.
