Creative take on the theme, good mono, I'm sure you don't need another comment on the top edge
I like that Allan, b+w is a great choice here, it certainly suits the scene. A clever take on the theme actually putting the books in the saucepans,
ThanksAllan
Round - nice effect and very round, very much a disfused diffuser. Nice muted colours.
Cook - good take on a theme, very clever, are you an accountant? Image is nice and sharp and the contrast suits the scene.
Pete
thanksCooking the books - Clever!
Certainly made me chuckle Allan, I saw trhe image and instinctively knew the title without reading it.
Pictures saying a thousand words and all that!
I agree with Dominic (and I see you to do) about a bit more light on the RH book. But in the heat of the moment, perhaps not an obvious thing to do and not obvious in the lcd.
I know what you mean about space around the lower flower think it needs a little more on the bottom maybeSomehow it makes me feel the lower flower wants a bit more space around it, may be because of the leaves on the other stems but it is well lit with good colours and light on the flowers and spot on for the theme.
Great minds and all that for the shortbread
thanks MichaelTHe thistles I do like Allan, nice black bg and lighting making them stand out. I don't think it needs anymore space on the bottom, the short thistle has a bit of character as it is. Liking the shortbread too, different composition and nice lit, still the thistles for me.
ThanksAgree with Chris about the bottom thistle, however I think colour, the dark background all go to making a good picture.
I prefer your shortbread, the details, lighting and colour are excellent.
thanksLiking both short pix!
If forced to choose then it's the grub
Yes they went down very well indeedI don't think it needs more space, the fact that it's so low in the frame emphasises the shortness of it.
Did you enjoy the props for your second shot?
ThanksLovely shot that. The deep yellow and blue really go together!
I get it’s boring, but story it’s a twigBang on theme, good use of complimentary colours, good detail.
I'm afraid it doesn't 'do' anything for me though, sorry - I don't feel any story from it.
(I'm sure other opinions will differ).
The BG is the back of a piece of spray painted glass its black but was picking up the light I took the picture outside so to be honest the colour although its uneven was a lucky accidentLovely colour in the lichen and a good choice of background colour which sets it of nicely (being hyper-mega picky so I see a hit of a wrinkle in the background? )
Forked
Good detail and colours. I personally am not too sure about the background, I would like to have seen it in it's natural environment.
Forked, like other I like the colour of the lichen and the detail is excellent, don't see anything wrong with the background colour.
Thanks for looking inAllan
Short - I like the flowers, but too crowded, A bit more background would help.
Shortbread - mmh too much suger and fat for me. Good Image with planty of sharp detail, it is tempting.
Forked - Nice colours and again plenty of sharp detail, good shot.
Pete
Thanks Roger it was the intrusive photographer idea I was going for I’m glad it came acrossTalk to the hand cos.............................. I like it Allan, the shallow DOF, the way the head is positioned and the B&W conversion. With so much talk about critique here lately I am going out on a limb and saying it tells the story well of someone avoiding the paparazzi or intrusive photographer. Good idea, very well executed.
