which older minolta lenses fit on the sony alpha mount?

Yes, all Sony cameras are A mount

All Sony DSLRs (or Alpha cameras) use the (A)lpha mount, not all Sony camera however, as the Nex mount is different.

Yeah, Ernestos right, NEX is e mount. Dslr and dslt are A mount.
