What options are there for an alternative to the Canon R6 mark III and a Canon RF100-500 mm f4.5-7.1L IS USM?

I'm facing a similar dilemma. I'm looking for a bit more reach than I sometimes have, 400mm is my longest focal length on an RF body, albeit an adapted 100-400Lmkii. I'm often out in low light for wildlife and I'm begining to appreciate and see the need for faster lenses than I have.

I have the Sigma 150-600 but it doesn't play well with the RF bodies I have, an R7 and an R5ii. This is one of the problems (from what I gather) as not many 3rd party lenses gel well with the RF mount, so the 500f4 from Sigma is probably out for me, adapted on the RF mount.

My thoughts turned towards used and possibly the EF 300 2.8, 400 2.8, or the RF 200-800 but starting at F6.3 at 200, I don't think it was quite what I was looking for.

Apart from the 300 2.8, the other big whites are out of reach for me financially.

It (200-800) may work for you though, by all accounts, it's a cracking lens and might be worth a look, depending on what you have planned for it.

The other option I looked into was micro, four thirds but again, not quite what I've been looking for but might be an option for you.
