Meant to delete one folder in my html folder this morning, someone spoke to me just as I logged into the ftp program, selected everything in my Public_Html folder by mistake instead of the intended folder then hit delete, continued talking to the other person then noticed it all gone when I looked back...Aaargh! 2 wordpress sites I was working on, photos and more. What a stoopid plonker.

You will, of course, simply restore from your complete and up-to-date backups, won't you? :p
 
If they were wordpress sites then you will still have the database which will have a lot of the content in it. Reinstall wordpress and use the same connection string so the outline will be there. Then you'll have to get all the plugins back and all the contents of the media folders. If you're lucky most of it will still work.

Someone should invent an undo button for ftp ;-)
 
Just been onto my hosts support desk, they have a backup also from a couple of days ago which is perfect and are going to replace the contents for me.

Must remember to ignore everyone when in the ftp program :lol: what a eejit, think I'll shut the computer down for today and play it safe:)
 
Learn to use command line rather than GUI - it's much harder to make mistakes that way ;)

Really? Does it help when you've typed "del .." instead of "del ." and pressed enter before the brains in gear! :bonk:

Local computer though not FTP.
