Hi, Happy New Year to everyone:banana:
I am a novice at this photo thing. I have a Nikon D60 and have it set in manual mode. I have tried to take some pics indoors using a remote SB600 mounted on a stand fired by a PT04 radio trigger.
The problem is when I press the shutter button it will auto focus and the AF illumintor lights but it wont take a pic. I,ve changed the aperture and shutter settings and also tried it in different modes but it still does the same.
Am I right in thinking that even in manual mode the camera wont take a photo in some situations, or should it take them no matter what.
I turned the camera off took out the battery put it back in and it then seemed to work.
Is this down to user error or do I have a camera problem ?

Regards David

It simply sounds like your lens hasn't found anything to lock focus on. Try either manually focusing, or using the auto focus, but direct it at something. On my Canon 40D you hear a very useful beep when focus is locked, and only then will it let me take a picture.

Hi Jo thanks for the reply. You're spot on, I've just tried it again and it is exactly what you said.

Many Thanks David
