Yes
I am seriously considering getting a EOS 60D but although some internet only sites are £100 + cheaper than the likes of PC Wprld,Jessops etc I am leaning towards paying the extra for peace of mind.
Am I daft and are the likes of Digital Rev going to be just as safe if anything goes wrong although would I incur substantial returns cost with an on-line only retailer

Just check they have a proper return address, they are honest with VAT, and if it's a grey import or UK stock, pay with your credit card and you should be OK.

Digital Rev have a good reputation, although the VAT is a bit of a grey area according to some.
I've bought from a few years ago without any problem.

I buy most of my equipment online, usually from shops which have a good trading record, just remember if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

You are not daft to be concerned, but a good deal of online shops are just as safe and reliable as an actual shop.

I have purchased pretty much all my kit from Warehouse Express over the years and I would say their customer service for me via phone or email has been easier and simpler than having to lug everything back into a town/shopping center to go to an actual shop.

It is just a case online of doing some research and only using somewhere you really do trust.

It all depends, some offer grey items that are much cheaper and are not covered by Canon's warranty.

The likes of Hdew and Digital rev do this, although cheaper, they will take the camera back if you have problems and get it sorted for you, the likes of Hdew also come with 3 years warranty.

I got my 60D from www.panamoz.com and they are quite a saving from Jessops. Their 60D here http://panamoz.com/index.php/digita...l-promotional-price-free-1-year-warranty.html is obviously an import, but you have to decide whether to risk the extra few days it takes to return it to panamoz IF you have a warranty claim against a saving of over £200. My 60D was delivered in 3 days and a couple of Sigma lenses from there have taken similar time to arrive and all duty and extras are covered.

I got my 60D and lenses from Procamerashop. Good advice on the phone and speedy delivery.

got ny 7D from warehouse express, and had to send it back, the customer service was excellent, because it was still under warranty they sent a courier for it, it was mended and back to me within a week

Don't forget Kerso at flashcamera.co.uk
Purchased a bit of gear from him (70-200 2.8is, 580ex2, 1.4 extender) and never had any problems, always very helpful and excellent prices, infact i've just ordered my new 16-35 f2.8 from him :D
Sure there are plenty of other people on here who would also sing his praises

I've never had a choice as there are no bricks and mortar camera shops (for serious gear) in my area of France :shake:. Never had a problem personally but have always bought from sites that I have seen recommended on various togging forums.
