Am I mad??

I'm starting to think I've lost my creative mojo. Lately whenever I show Mrs Treeman one of my pictures it seems to be met with a disgruntled shrug of indifference.

This evening was the final straw, I spent 22 minutes of my life doing something I'd never done before (ok, real basic stuff to you PS folk, but it was new to me), popping colour. Only this time she actually vocalised, "that's rubbish, haven't you got anything better to do?"

Well folks, can I have damnation or support?

Prefer before shot, however I do like the shot \ find it slightly disturbing. It's actually hard to work out the angle you've taken it from. But creative - yes so I say keep at it!

Not quite damnation, but I have to say out of the two I actually like the first 'full colour' one best. Although I'm not sure if the photo works, but then I'm not really into horse things.

In my opinion, your problem there is light, you just didn't have it.

If you haven't got one, or don't normally shoot with one, get yourself a flashgun and start using fill flash - perhaps even in that situation bounced from a reflector on the right.

Cheers,
James

I really like the composition in this. I find myself drawn to the quirky. I, however, find that I rather like the blueness (if that is indeed a real word) of the sky in the first one. Perhaps you could also lighten the white of the visible eye and sharpen the face a little bit for a touch more punch.

Definitely don't give up taking photos in this vein.

Quite fun and quirky, I couldn't resist having a wee play, just yell if you'd rather I removed it.

Thought it looked a bit like 2 weird alien beasties going head to head in a staring contest... or perhaps I'm mad also.

Tommy.

Maybe Mrs Treeman is getting miffed at you spending too much time with the camera and computer, I get told off like that every now and then, but mainly at festivals :D

support from me, really like the colour one, nice and quirky!

I was kneeling on the ground looking up, it's also a bit of a crop too.

Good idea, I'll have a play.

Funny you should say that, I've just bought an SB900!

LOL I think I like it

Thanks for your comments folks. I think the general consensus of opinion is that the colour pop doesn't work. I agree, I was just pleased to have achieved something I'd not done before, probably won't do again either :)

I get a very similar result when I show my husband my work (but I do hear him telling other people that I produce some great pictures so he must look at some of them :) )

I could not resist a play with your horse either - keep working on the colour selections, if you don't practice you won't be able to do it when you do want to

It's getting silly now.

The original 'before' was a really great shot

I thought that as well but he did want some support - you should see the latest version of the horse, it has gone a bit spotty but I think I should stop now and actually get on with some work :D

(Great editing btw.....)

I like the angle, tis funky. The problem with the colout popping is that you have really just made the sky look overcast.

That said, cool colour shot.

At least your missus expressed an emotion which takes thought and energy. There ain't nothing worse than a shrug of indifference.

Just trade her in!!

Are wives allowed to be put on for For Sale section??
