Am I missing something? 5D MkII

I have enabled "AF point display" on my 5D MkII which, unless I'm mistaken should then show the AF point which achieved focus on the rear screen when viewing images. I can see the images fine, but no sign of the AF point.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Forget the above, I've sussed it. I use back button focussing and unless the back button is held down whilst pressing the shutter release, no AF point is shown on playback.

Glad you've sorted it Bob, I had my "AF point display" on my 5D MkII yesterday and when I pressed the shutter button to focus and the points showed up on screen on mine. The only thing I did find yesterday though was that my back button focus has moved across one button somehow. Can't remember altering any of the settings though. Mind of their own springs to mind.

Hi Stuart,

Yes I think I've now got my head around the MkII. Although I'm sure I turned off "highlight tone priority" t'other day and lo ... 'twas back again today.

Mind you, given that I seem unable to remember my own name these days, I suspect pilot error is the real culprit.

I will say though that I am really impressed with the camera. Even Mrs Yellowbelly has noticed the cracking image quality.

Have to agree on the IQ. I started with a 550D, then got a 7D and then gave the wife the 550D when I got the 5D2. I hardly ever go to the 7D now as I just reach for the 5D2 all the time. I forced myself to go out with the 7D for a while the other day though and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will have to use it more often me thinks.
