Amur Leopard at YWP

Hi Steven

love that shot....that fur stands out so much makes me feel like I ciuld stroke it...beautiful cat

Thanks, I thought I had nailed the focus in camera, but now I see that it is behind his head. I guess I should use servo af next time

really nice shot.YWP is a nice place.good enclosures with options where you dont have to shoot through fences ,glass or perspex.

The Leopard Enclosure has only recently been opened, and you are at 'eye level' with the animals!

I go to YWP a few times a year, one of the perks of living in Doncaster (at least there is one now!!)

Leopards are my favourite so I can't fault it. Another nice pic.

Great shots, I usually go once a year. Good to see they are still expanding the selection of animals.

Nice one! Went in the last couple of days of the Easter Holiday...the leopards' enclosure was open, but the one cat that was out was the shy one. Apparently there are 3, and they are rotated in the main enclosure. I was unlucky, and he just sat in a corner.

These are great...and they add to the already impressive bunch of animals they have there.

I'll be going back soon, we have a yearly ticket, so it works out very cheap.

Only drawback with this enclosure is the high viewing platform is not accessible with my younger daughter, who is disabled. All the other enclosures are accessible. There is the low level bit, though, with a big glass window, so if the leopard is close that is a great place to see. :)

Cheers

Just up the road for you then Steven. Great shots of the leopard, they're excellent. I was there last sunday with the wife and kids, but it must of been feeding time for the leopard cause he was right at the back of the pen when we saw him.
My son is also disabled so couldn't get up to the viewing area so he didn't see much of it but managed to get 1 good shot through the glass.
Managed to get some pics of the lions though as they weren't being shy. I even got some lion porn, when one of them decided to try his luck with a lady lion. This one was making a good bit of noise when we were there.

Taken with my new 5D3 and Sigma 150-500 OS which I had on all day and took around 800 photos with it, all handheld.
I spoke to a few of the guys wandering around with cameras, so I might of said hello. Will definitely be going back in the summer holidays as it's a great day out.
