Holy Angels, at Hoar Cross in Staffordshire is an example of the best in English Victorian church architecture. And it makes a fine subject for the photographer! Here are two of my efforts.

Both good shots.
1st one is for me a "nice shot of a church" (fin)
2nd one I am liking greatly. Might be tempted to saturate the red leaves a bit more and sharpen the gate a little more to bring out the grain tho...
 
Thanks for the feedback Paul. I shoot lots of churches (a deep interest in church architecture) but post few shots (they're principally architectural records). These two, however, seemed to offer a bit more. As you imply, the second shot is more the "photographer's shot". You may be right about the leaves, but there's a fair bit of reflection off them. Would it work? I'll try it.
