First up on Saturday was 5043 "Earl of Mount Edgcumbe" with the Tyseley to York "Christmas White Rose".

Bit of a problem with the sun and wind as you can see.

Then on Sunday it was the turn of 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" starting from Liverpool with "The York Yuletide Express".

Seen here emerging from Elland Tunnel into full dull West Yorkshire.

Number one looks great!

The effect on the smoke looks odd, but in a very likable way :D

One thing I would like to know.. how do you know where and when to go to get these trains??
 
Both lovely shots, but No1 wins by a country mile - the smoke does it.
 
A couple of really fine shots its interesting re npo 1 that the "Rules" say the smoke should never obscure thye carriages in a steam shot but I think thats what really makes this shot
 
Love the first, the 2nd is spoilt a bit for me by the train pulling all different date carriages all of the first four visible are different, not your fault but spoils the illusion.
