Hi all
As my little son has appropriated the iPad I've treated myself to an Asus EeePad Transformer and am loving it so far. Just getting to the point of getting apps on there and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for photography related Android apps?

The only one i've got is the RG DOF calculator app which is useful for working out the max aperture you can get away with with group shots etc.

There are also some light meter apps which depending on the sensors available and their accuracy on the device might be useful (i don't bother with that)

But if you do any narrow dof photography an app to calculate the depth of field is comes in really handy.
 
I can't remember the full name but you can do a search. My fav app is called something like ND calculator. It basically calculates the shutter speed you need to use with ND filters, really handy specially for 10 stoppers.
 
Oh and not forgetting the app for this forum as well, using it right now, great on the move.
 
Great choice on the tablet. Far better than the iPad, although I'd have waited a couple of months for the 2nd generation (Transformer Prime) to come out.

As for apps, I've used exposure calculators before, which have been pretty good (on the phone, not tablet), but I can't really think of any other reasons you'd want to use a tablet for photography. The one thing I thought of is if you shoot with clients, it would be quite nice to download a few of the shots to the tablet half-way through the shoot and see what's working for them, and what's not. Might require working in RAW + JPEG or just JPEG, though, as I'm not sure what support for RAW on tablets is like..at least until Windows come out with theirs..
 
Someone mentioned the photographer's ephemeris the other day, although it is £3.12 .

Probably one to try for free on the desktop first and see if you would use it :)
 
Thanks for the replies, I'll take a look at the suggested apps.
I'm thinking of using it mainly for clients (showing photos / galleries, contract signing, etc). I know there is an Android app for the contract signing app I was using on the iPad, so that's a straight port over, wondered if anyone has any good portfolio display apps they use...? That's the only thing I think I've found which is (in my opinion) not as good as on the iPad.
