Android Phone Camera with low shutter lag

I'm currently using a Moto G2 [emoji32] and I'm generally pleased with the phone. However the shutter lag on the camera makes it almost impossible for me to use.

I'm hoping to upgrade and would like to retain the quality of the screen display but with a low lag camera. The camera doesn't have to be of the upmost image quality.

The review I read for the latest Moto suggested the lag is still there so recommendations please for my requirements without breaking the bank ....... if this is possible
 
Try the Open Camera app, assuming it's compatible with your phone. Relatively little lag on that with my Xiaomi 4X, even under lowish artificial lighting.

As the OP I tried Open Camera's and I'm impressed. Saved me then cost of a phone upgrade. Many thanks for the suggestion
