As part of my OCD ritual, I check my website traffic regularly using Clicky. Today, one of my visitors was running an OS called Android. That's a new one on me, I get lots of i-phone viewers but never Android... has anyone else heard of this, or indeed encountered it?

Just out of interest really :)

Thank you... I've noticed more and more HTC phones about in recent months. I feel less priviledged now, knowing that it's been around for 18 months and only got my first hit from it today :suspect:

No hits for me yet, but a mate of mine develops for it and he raves about it.

If the hype is to be believed its the future of phone operating systems... even over the iphone! it seems easier to develop for and is more functional, time will tell I guess.

My HTC Hero smartphone runs on Android, and after an updated 'Rom' for it, it's slicker than an Iphone!! :D

The HTC Hero has also won a few gadget of the year awards, and is as close as anybody's come yet to making an iPhone killer!

Android rocks! I love it, although must confess I've not used an iPhone, in a cunning "avoid being a sheep" tactic. ;)

By the way, you might have another Android hit now. :D

I to have an android phone, HTC Hero to be exact and it's great. Not as many apps as the iphone but some good ones none the less

PS Do you have to pay for clicky? I have just launched my site and it might be interesting to see some stats (hopefully growing stats)

Sorry for the late reply. As with most of these applications, if you are happy to see adverts and don't want to do advanced marketing stuff then yes Clicky is free

I guess the Android vs iphone 'thing' may be similar to the VHS vs Betamax of old when not necessarily the best wins, just the one that gets the marketing and following

If you want to add tracking to a website, Google Analytics is pretty much the standard these days (also free).
