Android update

I have just updated my phone to the new Android 2.2.1 and cant seem to see any difference apart from the messages are now like windows , anyone else updated and found it better/worse

what did you update from? 2.1?

2.1 to 2.2 gives you apps to SD and I can't remember what else.

2.2.1 is just an incremental update for Froyo, just a few little tweaks, don't ask me what they are, ask Google
2.3 is Gingerbread.

All depends on your phone manufacturer and whether the handset is unlocked or not.
My Desire got the update to 2.2 quite quickly as I bought it from Carphone Warehouse and it is therefore unlocked. Handsets sourced from the networks themselves take longer as the updates are tested etc before release.

As for 2.3, the only phone to have that at present is the Nexus S. The only other way to get it is to root and use a different ROM.
