Angle finders for Canon 650D

Can anyone give any feedback and information on using these for Macro work as sometimes I find the angled screen not clear enough due to bright light on it.

I see the Canon own brand are very expensive and there are many cheaper varieties around.

Are they always right angle to the camera, or can there be adjustable angles

Can anyone comment / recommend.

The Hoodman [RAV] right angled viewfinder is very good. You are unable to tilt the viewfinder but they do rotate and click on 8 points allowing you to view from the side of the camera if necessary. They cost about £75

Hi andyred, I did look closely at that one - but reviews I read elsewhere suggested for macro work if I were to buy Canon then the C series would be better.

You could perhaps clarify one question I came across regarding the B (and if it happens generally) do angle finders reverse the image top-to-bottom and/or side-to-side

A review I read suggested the B does this - any info would be great

Hi

Will have a look to double check, but I seem to remember it looks the right way - you look down the angle finder and the image appears normal as it would if you looked through the viewfinder - hope that makes sense...

Just been and checked and yes, everything looks the correct way - object on the right is on the right side. Hope this is of help...
 
I tried angle finders for astro photography a few years ago and found them lacking, I then tried the zigview finder but although not to bad it was limited angle wise.

The best option now is if you have an android phone running ice cream sandwich or above as you can get a lead and app that allow you to not only use the handset as a digital finder, but also control the camera with it.

Would have been more expensive if it was a C, thats why it's a bargain :thumbs:

The Seagull Right Angle Finder gets very good reviews, you can get them for under £30 on the bay.
