Hi guys.

I'm new to DSLR's.

I've got a Canon EOS 20D and have a bit of a problem.

I have been farting about with different things - exposure/iso/shutter speeds etc, but i've done something so that the camera won't AUTO FOCUS on P mode....

I'm stumped... it auto focus's on other modes but not P mode..

Please save me!
 
Sounds weird.. Could you give details...

Does it attempt to autofocus and fail?

Are you sure AF/MF switch on your lens is in AF position?
Are you sure AF points are set correctly? But then again in P mode AF points should be in auto mode, at least on newer models, not sure about 20D.
 
Hi folks.

THanks for the replies.

I checked the switch and it's definitely on AF.

I finally managed to sort the issue, however. I went into the settings and choose " reset all custom functions " and that sorted the problem. I'd obviously just messed up a setting when i was faffing about lol..

Feel so dumb!

You have probably used a Cf which moves AF function to the back button. Just a guess, though

It took me few seconds to work out that you meant Custom Function and not Compact Flash :bang:
