Hi sorry if this has been answered many times previously.
I have the Nikon D3100 and after reading several threads on here I tried out the back button focus option which I really like to focusing and re-composing the shot.
I set the AE-L / AF-L button to AF lock only
However one thing I have noticed that there is no way to lock exposure now or take a meter reading. The exposure meter is not showing in the viewfinder since I changed the button.
I could set it to AE/AF lock but I am thinking this would take a exposure reading form the same position as the focus point?
Am I missing something here? Is it because I am the D3100 is an entry level camera.
Any advice would be appreciated.
