Another copyright question!

Hi all

If you agree to supply photos for a book which is published in English and the license only covers that 'English' title, but then the book gets re-published into another language, lets say it's French and with a French title, would that publisher be in breach of your agreement?

I would suggest seeing what the licence/agreement actually says or doesn't say first, or at least that would be my starting point just to get my facts straight before making any challanges.
If there is no mention about the distribution being limited to the English language then my guess is it leaves an open door to publish in any language. However if there is a specific written agreement/licence for English only then I suspect another agreement/licence would need to be reached for the purposes of use in another language or world wide use, the same as any product with a copywrite.

I don't think anyone can come up with a definitive answer not knowing how the agreement exactly was written.

I'm not going to challenge the use of the photos! .... I just thought it may be an interesting point as my agreement was with use of the photos with the title of the book
