Some of you may remember a thread I started on here towards the end of last year about a gimbal head that I was making.

At the time I said that I wanted to make a bird hide clamp so that I could mount my camera to the shelves in hides if they were suitable.

After looking around on the net and coming up with and discarding a couple of ideas I decided to make a version of the G clamp that I thought would do the job.

Have finished it in the last couple of days. Main frame is from one piece of 20mm aluminium with 20mm cheeks added each side to broaden the base. 3/8 BSW thread on the top to take a ball head or gimbal head.

Thanks for looking.

The one from naturescapes has an accessory that lifts the gimbal or ball head up a little. I guess it depends on what is a suitable height for each person. But it's an easy fix. Take half an hour to turn a suitable pan into a ground pod.

Cheers Drew

Looking forward to seeing the results from the pool.
