One of my photos from yesterday is going into my local paper on Thursday so I'm very happy! :D

Only getting credit but that's good enough for me at the moment :)

So yeah, basically :woot: :D:D
 
Well done! It's a very nice feeling when you see your own photos in print. I had to fight quite hard to get my local papers even to print my name, so I wouldn't hold out too much hope of being paid unless you have a good news-worthy pic.!

I can't wait to see it :) They were nice, I just asked and they said I could have the credit straight away. I'm only expecting to be paid if they ask me to do something for them really, I'm hoping this might get me on the reserve emergency photographer list or something :)

Did you initiate contact with your paper?
Last time I got images in the evening post it was a newsworth event & I emailed them a low res version and a link to the high res versions - and stated I would be happy for them to use the images for their standard editorial image rate (Or something like that)

They only used one image but I got a reply saying what would happen and where to send the invoice (Including the rate). Wasn't steller money but still a nice touch.
 
I did initiate the contact yes, but I was happy for now just to get the credit. I'll push for a bit more next time. But it is a free paper, probably can't get too much out of them...
