I'd love to take a full frame shot of an owl taken with a wide angle lens with a beautiful background but until one lands 2 feet from me I guess I'll just have to dream...

I was just hoping the owl flew at him and scratched his lens!

Agreed, the bloke is a moron. Let's hope he got a good ear bashing from the other toggers, though the two nearest to him almost look complicit. Totally insensitive to the bird.
