Another photo theft question

I'm investigating the possible use of a photo from my Flickr account which tells me a site called Tumblr dot com has supplied 55 views this morning. How do I find my photo on this large site which requires you to sign up?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give.

If they are linking back to your Flickr page - you have no recourse it's all in the Ts&Cs of Flickr

I don't mind its use persay but I would like to see it and what they're saying about it. :) Any tips on finding the page?

That's not "Photo theft", 55 views means they are linking to your content, if they had have stolen it, you wouldn't have got any views from them.

They are advertising your image for you, and it's working.

Thanks for that. I'm not to clued up on these things.

Its not been pinched its just being viewed, I had one viewed the same way and it was put onto the front page of an alternative power website which to be honest I was quite chuffed with, its only people admiring your work so dont worry.......if you see it for sale then thats theft and copyright infringement

Makes sense, but not knowing quite where it was originating from I hadn't a clue if it was theft or not. :bonk:

consider it a compliment! it's just someone who likes your photo. simple as that. sign up to tumblr to see how many people reblog it! i get loads of views from tumblr.

That's a bit of a misinterpretation..

Whether or not they should be allowed to use and link-back is entirely down to the way you choose to license the image. There *is* a recourse if you're chosen license is infringed by the use, whether it's linked back or not.

The Flickr T's and C's require any use of the file hosted on the Flickr servers to link-back to the source.

Being Tumbled, tweeted, etc can get you a lot of views very quickly. Whether it's wanted or not depends whether or not you want your image to be seen.

It gets a bit confusing really doesn't it? You would expect an "All rights reserved" picture to be safeguarded by Flickr wouldn't you? Then again I do understand it's almost impossible once posted on the net.

There's more to it than that, how have you set the other options around sharing of images? ARR is just the declared copyright setting, it doesn't in itself control the sharing of the image from what I remember.
